About Mark Alexander

My artistic journey began as a curious and creative young boy, always eager to explore the world with a pencil in hand. Drawing became my preferred way of expressing myself, and I spent countless hours capturing every detail of the world around me on paper and canvas. From figures to cars and everything in between, nothing was too small or too big to be brought to life by my pencil.

As life often does, my path took a slightly different direction in my early adult years. I began working at Rigshospitalet, where I was part of the trauma and cardiac arrest team. Being in the emergency department was an eye-opening experience, exposing me to both the fragility of life and its incredible strength. Yet, with that strength came a profound emotional burden that I needed to find a way to manage.

It was here, in the bustling heart of the hospital, that painting became a revelation for me. Through my paintings, I could express the emotions swirling inside me: joy, sorrow, hope, fear. It was as if the brush on the canvas became my therapist, helping me process and understand the experiences I faced as part of the trauma team.

Over the years, painting became my refuge, my passion, and my therapy. I painted primarily for myself and for the sheer joy of it, but about four years ago, people around me began encouraging me to share my work with the world. I had a garage full of paintings I had created over the years and decided to put some of them up for sale.

What followed was nothing short of overwhelming. My work was warmly received, and it was an incredible feeling to see how my paintings touched and brought joy to others. I couldn’t believe it when my first painting sold within hours of being listed. Soon, my garage was empty, and my paintings were adorning walls in homes across the country.

Selling my paintings has not only been a source of financial support but also a profound source of joy and fulfillment. Knowing that my work brings warmth and happiness to people’s homes is a feeling beyond words. It has given me the courage to establish my own studio and gallery, where my paintings can be experienced up close.

Although I still work at the hospital and as a sales consultant alongside my artistic pursuits, painting will always be my greatest passion. I use a wide range of techniques and draw inspiration from everything, from the beauty of nature to my travels around the world. From acrylic on canvas to acrylic pouring, alcohol ink, and watercolor, I am constantly exploring new ways to express myself through my art.

Beyond painting, I am a passionate traveler and an avid observer of the world around me. The beauty of nature, flowers, the colors of the ocean, and life beneath the surface—all of this inspires me and finds its way into my works in one form or another. I believe in experimenting and challenging myself as an artist, and I enjoy blending different techniques to create unique and vibrant pieces of art.

Painting is more than just a hobby for me; it is a way to connect with myself and the world around me on a deeper level. It is my way of expressing the complex and beautiful emotions I carry within and of creating something meaningful and beautiful out of the chaos of everyday life.

With these thoughts and emotions, I hope to contribute art to even more Danish homes, now available in a variety of forms.
